Muscat: The occupancy rate at a number of intensive care units designated for Covid-19 patients in Oman’s hospitals has reached 100 per cent. At the Royal Hospital, occupancy has exceeded the maximum capacity and is at 105 per cent.
Hospitals with 100 per cent occupancy are the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, the Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Salalah and Khasab Hospital.
The total number of beds allocated in ICUs for Covid-19 patients are 219 and 211 of them are occupied, according to data issued by the Ministry of Health.
The Sultanate has witnessed an increase in the number of people infected with Covid-19 in recent days, with an average rate of 1,000 new cases per day.
