Cyclone named by Oman to hit India

Muscat: A new low pressure area over north Andaman Sea likely to intensify into cyclone called "Yaas" , the name given by Oman Authority.

According to Asian News International ANI, India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday said a low pressure area is very likely to form over North Andaman Sea and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal around May 22.

The IMD informed that it is predicted to move North - westwards and reach Odisha - West Bengal coasts around May 26 evening.

Yaas is a tree that has a beautiful smell that is used in the manufacture of perfumes, cosmetics and cooking. And it was used in the past in Oman in the manufacture of traditional cosmetics.
