Muscat: Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in Dhofar Governorate has urged companies to find job opportunities to absorb young job seekers, Chairman of OCCI said on Wednesday.
Talking about the royal directives to implement employment initiatives for job seekers and whose services have been terminated, Engineer Hussein bin Hathith Al Bathari, Chairman of OCCI branch in the Governorate of Dhofar, said in a statement to the Oman News Agency (ONA), that despite the current economic conditions and the effects of COVID-19 pandemic, His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik did not hesitate to serve his people in providing employment opportunities.
"Since the announcement of the directives of the Sultan, government and private agencies have worked to implement these directives, as these operational initiatives for job seekers, workers whose services have been terminated and those affected by the repercussions of the pandemic will work to empower them, improve their standard of living, provide skills and practical experience and enhance their talents," Al Bathari added.
Al Bathari indicated that Oman's private sector has been supporting and partnering with the government in absorbing and generating job opportunities. These initiatives are an opportunity for companies to attract qualified young cadres, employ them, train them on the job, and benefit from incentives offered by the government.
