Muscat: Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre is preparing to host and organise the national campaign for vaccination against Covid-19 as a main centre that accommodates from five thousand to ten thousand citizens and residents per day.
The centre began preparing and working on this project with a large group of Omani competencies, which included participation of more than 250 young volunteers.
The exhibition halls of the centre are also equipped with specifications and requirements in accordance with the precautionary measures in terms of physical distancing and other specified guidelines. The role will be in taking the vaccines through the numbering screens, a system similar to that of the Royal Oman Police halls. The centre will contain drive-through service for the elderly and people with disabilities, which will contribute to the smooth implementation of this service.
Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre took into account the expected congestion in light of the rising temperatures. About 4,000 shaded parking spaces are equipped with a staff to organise the entry and exit of vehicles and directional panels in all the centre's facilities, including car parks, entrances and exits, and waiting halls. The tracks will be allocated according to the target groups according to age or the type of vaccines, and doses according to the planning and division of the rooms designated for vaccination.
The Ministry of Health is developing Tarassud+ app in order to book an appointment for the vaccine before going to the main centre or other centres in the various governorates of the Sultanate. There will be no need to wait for long as the reservation will be through the application according to scheduled dates.
According to the information, the launch of the centre will be announced in the coming days by the Ministry of Health.
