Muscat: An air trough will spread over most Governorates of the Sultanate from today over the next three days. Heavy rains are expected over some Governorates, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said on Tuesday.
A statement issued by CAA said that the latest weather charts and analysis by the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Centre show that an upper air trough will affect the Sultanate starting from 21st July 2021 until 24th July 2021.
The statement confirmed that advection of clouds with chances of rain and thundershowers associated with fresh downdraft winds, hail and flow of wadis over most of the Sultanate is expected, while heavy rain is expected over Governorates of North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah (20-40 mm in 24 hours) on Wednesday till Friday 21-23 July 2021.
Seas will continue to be rough along the Arabian Sea coast with wave heights ranging from 3.0 to 4.0 metres, whereas, along Oman Sea coast it will be moderate with maximum wave height of 2.0 metres.
