Weather alert issued for parts of Oman

Muscat: Oman Meteorology has issued an alert forecasting heavy rains over several parts of the Sultanate.

The alert, issued on Thursday, says, "Chances of heavy rain to continue today over the Governorates of Muscat, North and South Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah and North and South Al Batinah, with rainfall ranging between 20 mm and 60 mm, accompanied by active winds and hail with flooding of valleys."

"Everyone is asked to take precautions, not to cross valleys, avoid low places and not go into the sea during the warning period," Oman Meteorology added while also predicting rainfall over east Muscat as well.
