Muscat: Computerisation system of customs procedures and operations and the e-one station system (Bayan), was launched by the Directorate General of Customs at Muscat International Airport yesterday, under the auspices of Brig Ali bin Abdullah Al Marhoon, Director General, Airport Security.
The inauguration coincides with the gradual implementation of ‘Bayan’ system in all land, air and sea customs ports, to achieve a significant step in the process of trade exchange through the e-facilities and privileges offered by ‘Bayan’ system and its sub-systems, including integrated customs management system and risk management system, as well as the e-one station system which helps fast completion of permits and licences as soon as possible.
Lt Col Mansour bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Director of Tariff and Statistics Department, Member of the Computing Team and Director of the e-one station system said government agencies using the system are divided into two groups, and the licences, permits and exemptions system will start operating next month, which would contribute to facilitate the process of obtaining permits electronically.
