Oman ministry clarifies reason for hiring expat teachers

Muscat: The Ministry of Education has clarified the reasons contracting committee of the Arab Republic of Egypt to fill teaching positions for some specialisations.

This is in response to rumours being circulated on social media.

The ministry has said that these are specialisations for which there were insufficient Omani applicants, despite four consecutive announcements for these posts, made in coordination with the Ministry of Labour.

"With the beginning of the academic year fast approaching, the Ministry decided to fill the vacancies and to ensure a smooth year for students, the ministry has added.
