Oman takes part in meeting with Russia at UNGA in New York
The Sultanate was represented by Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al-Hassan, the Sultanate's permanent representative to the United Nations in New York.
New York: The Sultanate participated in the annual consultative meeting between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Russian Federation on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The Sultanate was represented by Dr. Mohammed bin Awad Al-Hassan, the Sultanate's permanent representative
to the United Nations in New York.
During the meeting, Sergei Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, expressed his country's interest in developing relations with the GCC countries at all levels, adding that these relations are based on mutual respect and
common benefits.
The meeting discussed a number of issues of common interest and emphasised the importance of developing and strengthening cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council and Russia to serve common interests, and increase coordination and cooperation to enhance security and stability in the region.
