College of Pharmacy signs MoU with Novartis Pharma Services

Muscat: The College of Pharmacy at the National University of Science and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding with Novartis Pharma Services with approval from Ministry of Health Directorate of Pharmaceutical Affairs and Drug Control.

This collaboration aims to:
•    Enhance graduate skills levels and ensure a smooth and effective transition between university and business environments;

•    Increase opportunities for students to acquire relevant work experience during their studies, including internships, work based practice programs;

•    Help students understand the opportunities and different career paths that are available in the private pharmaceutical sector;

•    Strengthen the partnership between MoH, College of Pharmacy, and Novartis reflecting the level of commitment of Novartis towards the Sultanate and its patients.

This MoU will include:

•    Establishment of a Graduate Programfor College of Pharmacy graduates. The participants will be directly involved in day-to-day operations, working with professionals and gaining first-hand experience of Novartis business and products while building functional and management skills as well as on-the-job learning. The Program Duration will be eighteen months Program, after which if any vacancy opens up at Novartis, the graduates can apply to the specific vacancy and will go through the interview process along with all applicants.

•    Implementation of Novartis Talk: A series of sessions initiated by Novartis to provide College of Pharmacy students with a broad understanding of the healthcare industry and give students the exposure to different career paths and prepare them for the world of work.
