Hotels, tourist establishments urged to adhere to COVID-19 protocols

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism has urged all hotel and tourist establishments in the Sultanate of Oman to continue to adhere to the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism said: "It has been recently observed that there has been negligence by some hotel and tourist establishments in adhering to the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19. Therefore, the Ministry would like to warn all hotel and tourist establishments of the necessity to abide by all the decisions issued by this ministry and other competent authorities regarding the prevention of the spread of Covid-19."

"They are also urged to continue to reduce the visitors at all hotel facilities, such as restaurants, meeting and banquet halls, and the rest of the other facilities to 50 per cent of the total capacity. In addition to full commitment to preventive measures such as wearing a mask in all facilities and maintaining social distancing and other preventive requirements in order to ensure the safety of society and to avoid taking any legal measures that may reach the closure of the facility," the Ministry added.
