University of Buraimi organises maths competition for Buraimi schools

Muscat: University of Buraimi (UoB) has organised a maths quiz competition among high school students from Al Buraimi governorate about basic mathematics was arranged, in which 12 teams from different schools participated.

A half-hour written quiz test as a preliminary round was given and 4 best teams were selected to compete for two rounds. Two questions from each team were asked in each round and the top three teams were selected to compete for the third/final round. The top two teams from the final round were declared winner and runner-up, respectively. Gifts for all the participants were distributed with special gifts and souvenirs for the winner team and runner-up. Certificate of participation was also given to each group/team.

The main objective of this event was to bring students self-confidence and to know the importance of mathematics in their present and higher future studies. Also, participants explored the University campus and experienced student campus life and got a chance to interact with UoB students.
