4166 new coronavirus cases, 3 deaths reported in Oman

Muscat: More than 4,000 new COVID-19 cases have been registered in the Sultanate in the last three days, according to government figures.

The Ministry of Health has announced that 4,166 cases of coronavirus were registered during the past three days in the Sultanate.

With this new announcement, the total number of cases registered in the Sultanate has gone up to 322,438 cases.

The Ministry also stated that the Sultanate has recorded three new deaths, which has taken the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in the Sultanate to 4,128.

Meanwhile,  the number of people who have recovered from the disease has  reached 305,675, the Ministry added.

Giving date-wise details on the disease numbers from Thursday, January 20 to Saturday, January 22, 2022, the ministry  said that on Thursday 1,708 infections and one death were reported.

On Friday, 1,143 infections and one death, and on Saturday, 1,315 infections and one death were registered. Dr. Amal Al Ma’ani, Director of the Department of Prevention and Infection Control at the Ministry of Health, confirmed that 99 per cent  of infections in the Sultanate of Oman come from a mutant Omicron, according to the official account in Oman.
