Muscat: An expatriate worker has been imprisoned, fined and will be expelled from the Sultanate of Oman for selling adulterated oils, said the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA).
The Consumer Protection Authority said in a statement: “A worker of Asian nationality was sentenced to a fine, imprisonment, and expulsion from the country, through the efforts of the judicial control officers of the Consumer Protection Department in the Governorate of South Al Batinah in Rustaq. The accused was buying oils in large quantities, packaging them in different sizes and brands, and selling the adulterated products to consumers.”
