Water Awareness Exhibition at Salalah Grand Mall

As part of the annual United Nations ‘World Water Day’ event, A’soud Global School, Salalah, working with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Salalah Grand Mall participated in an exhibition on 22nd March at the popular shopping destination.

The ‘Water Awareness Exhibition’ marked the culmination of an extended project that involved members of the Ministry visiting AGS to present to students this year’s campaign - that exploring, protecting and sustainably using groundwater will be central to surviving and adapting to climate change and meeting the needs of a growing population. Students in Grades 3 to 8 then took a visit to both the Salalah Protection Dam and the Ain Garziz Spring to see these important features firsthand.

The exhibition celebrated the talents of AGS children from KG1 to Grade 2 who prepared imaginative and colourful 3D structures, paintings and other artwork aimed at raising awareness of this important natural resource.

Mr Damon Hewson, Principal at AGS Salalah, said, ‘it has been an incredibly positive experience to work alongside colleagues at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and Salalah Grand Mall on this important project. Our students have engaged with enthusiasm and confidence and their effort and hard work is evident in the wonderfully creative pieces they have produced. We are all very proud of them.’
