Muscat: People infected with dengue fever and those residing in areas where cases have been discovered will not be allowed to donate blood temporarily.
"We would like to note that it will prevent people with dengue fever from donating blood temporarily for a period of six months. As a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of infection, residents in areas where cases of disease have been discovered will be prevented from donating blood temporarily for a period of 28 days," the Department of Blood Banks Services (DBBS) said in a statement.
