Police bust major drug smuggling attempt

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has thwarted an attempt to smuggle more than 54,000 tablets of different types of psychotropic substances and 25 kilograms of hashish.

The ROP said in a statement: “The Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Department, led by the Musandam Governorate Police, in cooperation with the Coast Guard Police, thwarted an attempt to smuggle more than 54,000 tablets of different types of psychotropic substances and 25 kilograms of hashish into the country by sea.”
