Fak Kurba initiative results in release of over 1,000 prisoners

Muscat: More than 1,000 jailed insolvent people have been released as part of the ninth edition of the Fak Kurba initiative.

"Reflecting the national cohesion and solidarity between the leadership, institutions and individuals in the Sultanate of Oman, Fak Kurba initiative successfully released 1,035 prisoners across all governorates in the Ninth Edition of the initiative," a statement said.  

The  prisoners are distributed as follows: 209 prisoners in Muscat Governorate, 194  prisoners in North Al Batinah Governorate, 148  prisoners in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, 117 in South Al Batinah Governorate , 98  prisoners in Al Buraimi Governorate Governorate.

78 insolvent  prisoners were released in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, 72  prisoners in Dhofar Governorate, 57 in Al Dhahirah Governorate, 49  prisoners in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, 9  prisoners in Musandam Governorate and 4  prisoners in Al Wusta Governorate
