Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman won, for the fifth time in a row, the two World Cups of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) in its 40th session, within the under-16 and under-21 categories, in a ceremony held at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy.
Oman News Agency (ONA), reported that photographers of the Sultanate of Oman won a number of individual awards. In the under-21 category, photographer Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Shuaili won the gold medal for his photo "Thinking".In the under-16 category, photographer Maher Bin Naseer Al Khusaibi won the silver medal for his photo "Inflection ", while Zamzam Bint Khalfan Bani Oraba won the bronze medal for her photo "Blackout".
His Excellency Sayyid Said bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture, head of the Sultanate’s delegation participating in the ceremony, said that the Sultanate of Oman’s crowning of the two World Cups in the FIA Youth Biennale competition came after a great effort and continuous keenness from the photographers before participating in this competition.
