Muscat: Three fishermen adrift in their boat off the coast of Oman were rescued by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
The men had been fishing when their boat developed a “technical snag”, according to a tweet on the ROP twitter account. Rescue teams were deployed off the coast of Shinas on Tuesday night in a search and rescue operation.
The men had radioed that their vessel’s engine was not working.
The ROP rescued all three men at sea in Shinas on Tuesday night; ROP tweeted on its official twitter handle.
“ROP rescued three people at sea in Shinas after their fishing boat developed a technical snag on Tuesday night,” the tweet said.
The men were found in good health after a search operation and were none the worse for their ordeal.
ROP received a distress call at night informing them about the incident which made them search for the people, according to the official tweet.
