Muscat: Royal Oman Police (ROP) advised people not to switch off all their house lights when leaving.
This comes following a series of theft cases which occurred in the Omani capital Muscat during Eid Al Fitr holiday.
In a video, ROP instructed residents and citizens to keep some of their house lights on when going outside and to inform a neighbor to check on the house.
Four theft cases were reported in Muscat governorate during the five-day holiday.
Two thefts took place at Al Mabela, one in Al Khoudh and one in Al Azaiba, according to the ROP.
Car thefts and vandalism were also reported in different parts of the capital.
"ROP headquarters in Al Khoudh received nine reports of car vandalism and theft in Al Mabela, Al Khoudh and Al Mawaleh," ROP tweeted.
The ROP called upon residents and citizens to install safety devices to protect their houses.
