ROP issues warning over fraud on Imo app

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police(ROP) has warned of a new electronic fraud on the IMO platform.

"The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations has detected a new fraudulent activity using a false account on Imo application which bears the logo of Royal Oman Pollce. This account is exploited to inform targeted users that they have some traffic fines which must be urgently settled by providing their bank account details, after which they are deceitfully used to withdraw money," the ROP said in a statement
