Muscat: Mohammed bin Nasser Al Za’abi, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) expects the two public aviation companies - Salalah Air and Al Sharqiya Aviation to reactivate their operations at Sohar and Duqm airports.
In his Twitter account, Al Za’abi said the initial approval for the required licences has been given by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation to the two companies.
The licences are given to the private aviation companies, air buses, air ambulances and other companies transporting less than 19 passengers.
The public aviation would facilitate the movement of businessmen and tourists within the Sultanate which would contribute to reactivating the air traffic at the airports of Sohar and Duqm.
The head of Salalah Air would be at Salalah Airport while the head office of Al Sharqiya Aviation would be at Muscat International Airport.
It is worth mentioning that the initial approval is given in accordance with the rules of economic regulation issued by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation.
