Oman's ministry orders probe into registration via Invest Easy Portal

Muscat: Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that 310 companies added loading and unloading activities and 110 new commercial registrations for these activities have been made during the last week.
This figure is unprecedented via Invest Easy Portal, says the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that it is believed that the aim behind adding this activity is to get visas for expatriates and later lease them to other companies.
The statement added that the Ministry, in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower and the Royal Oman Police, is following up owners of these commercial registrations to identify the reasons behind adding this business and how far their businesses are compatible with loading and unloading business activity.
The statement stressed the importance of abiding by the rules and regulations and not to manipulate the facilities provided through Invest Easy Portal as the system has been designed to be interactive and issue reports and statistics daily on all transactions processed through the portal.
