Over 50 workers arrested for violating Labour Law in Muscat

Muscat: More than 50 male and female workers were arrested in Muscat Governorate for violating the provisions of the Labour Law.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Labour (MoL) said: "The Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police, (ROP), are conducting an inspection campaign in the Wilayat of Seeb for private homes in which unlicensed work is practiced. The Ministry has arrested 49 female workers and 4 male workers violating the provisions of the Labour Law."

The Ministry of Labour confirmed that legal measures are being taken against them.
