Abu Dhabi: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik on Tuesday visited Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi as part of his state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court (Head of the Mission of Honour).
Upon his arrival at the mosque, His Majesty the Sultan was received by Dr. Yousuf Al Obaidli, Director General of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre.
His Majesty the Sultan went on tour of mosque’s halls and corridors. He took note of the edifice’s role in promoting the culture of coexistence and openness inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
On this occasion, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his admiration for the mosque’s depiction of aesthetics and arts of Islamic architecture, architectural designs and the edifice’s collections. He praised the role of the “Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre” in portraying the tolerant nature of Islam and extending bridges of rapprochement with different cultures of the world.
At the end of his tour, His Majesty the Sultan signed the Senior Visitors Book at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
His Majesty the Sultan was accompanied by during the visit by HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, HH Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court, Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nuamani, Minister of the Royal Office, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Head of the Private Office, Abdussalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of Oman Investment Authority, Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion and Sayyid Dr. Ahmed bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Ambassador of Oman to the UAE. -ONA
