Joint Parliamentary Session to discuss items of dispute in Draft Laws on Monday

Muscat: The State Council and the Shura Council will hold the first joint session next Monday, 1 July 2024, of the first annual convening during the 8th term.

The joint session will be held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Abdulmalek Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, at the presence of Khalid Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council.

Further, the session will discuss reports of the joint committees regarding items of dispute in the draft bills of “Bank Deposits Protection Law”, “The Law Regulating Trade in Wildlife” and “Media Law”. The session will vote regarding these items of dispute in accordance with procedures of conducting joint sessions between the two councils.
