Muscat– The Grande Finale of Adrasteia: the Mock Trial programme, a pioneering initiative founded by Indian School Wadi Kabir (Cambridge) student Samarth Pujari, concluded successfully on August 31, 2024. This eight-week intensive programme aimed to nurture the next generation of legal professionals by providing participants with invaluable exposure to the legal industry through a blend of debates, mock trials, and sessions led by esteemed legal experts and alumni from Oxford, Cambridge, NLU, UCLA, and GLC. The programme's innovative approach included interactive sessions that integrated research, personal experiences, and practical insights, offering students a comprehensive view of the legal field.
Sponsored by BSA Al Rashdi & Al Barwani Advocates and Legal Consultants and Jamal Al Amri Advocates and Legal Consultants, the event was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Chief Guest Dr. Riyadh Al-Balushi, CEO and Co-Founder of Decree, an Omani legal tech startup, and former Director of International Treaties at the Ministry of Legal Affairs. Leading legal practitioners Ms. Jalpa Mehta, Ms. Shubhangi Pujari, Ms. Riza Ismael, and Mr. Zahir Al Sulaimani served as Guests of Honour, offering their expertise and guidance.
The highlight was the Mock Trial Contest, showcasing participants' legal acumen and practical skills in a real-world setting. The competition was judged by Anaya Kaliyath and an eminent panel of legal professionals, with Bhumika Jagtiani and Omer Beg emerging as winners and Barkha Jangir and Sannah Vikas as 1st Runners-up.
Insightful speeches by Principal Mr. D.N. Rao and Vice Principal Ms. Sowmya M. S., whose unwavering support was crucial to the programme’s success, were also featured. Adrasteia's Grande Finale was a testament to the transformative power of education and the potential of young minds. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging all contributions and reaffirming the commitment to continue nurturing future legal professionals in Oman.
