Four people were killed in Israeli strikes on the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah, the Houthi-run Health Ministry in Yemen said.

French foreign minister arrives in Beirut amid Israeli airstrikes

France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot arrived in Lebanon on Sunday night where he oversaw the delivery of 12 tons of medical equipment. "I arrive this evening in Beirut where France is engaged in the protection of civilians," Barrot said in a post on X.

France's top diplomat said the humanitarian aid delivery would be used to treat "1,000 seriously injured people."

Following a meeting to discuss the status of French nationals in Lebanon, Barrot is expected to meet officials including Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Monday.

Barrot's arrival comes as his ministry announced that a second French national was confirmed to have been killed in Lebanon.

Israel's military said that it has continued striking Hezbollah targets throughout Lebanon.

Biden says regional Middle East war 'has to be avoided'

US President Joe Biden said that a broader war in the Middle East "has to be avoided."

He made the comments following Israeli strikes on Lebanon and Yemen, nearly a year after the start of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.

Biden told reporters that he planned to speak to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but did not say when.

"I'll tell you what I say to him when I talk to him," Biden said.
