Muscat: Under the esteemed patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saud bin Hamoud bin Ahmed Al Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, SIMAK, a subsidiary of Fisheries Development Oman, proudly announces the commencement of commercial production at its cannery factory in Duqm. This significant milestone aligns with the Sultanate’s celebration of its 54th National Day.
SIMAK's canned tuna products are available across the localhypermarket, with plans to introduce mackerels in the coming months. This marks an exciting milestone as SIMAK makes its first foray into the consumer products market.
SIMAK's state-of-the-art facility, strategically located in the Duqm Special EconomicZone, harnesses advanced technology to produce over 100 million cans annually, equivalent to more than 30,000 tons of top-grade raw materials of seafood.
This output not only meets local demand but also positions Oman as a significant player in the global seafood market. The factory's strategic location near major ports and specialized fisheries Industrial Zonesupports efficient operations and distribution.
