KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) is proud to present its first-ever Malaysian Healthcare Week 2025, showcasing Malaysia’s holistic healthcare ecosystem to Oman. Taking place from 22 January to 25 January 2025, at the Mall of Oman, Muscat, this event is a collaborative effort featuring Prince Court Medical Centre, KPJ Healthcare, PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre and Cengild G.I. Medical Centre.
The event will spotlight Malaysia’s expertise in specialised fields such as cardiovascular diseases and surgery, rehabilitation, joint replacement, spine surgery, and comprehensive plastic and aesthetic medicine whilst introducing the integrated approach to health that Malaysia offers, which includes wellness medicine, traditional and complementary medicine. This initiative is part of MHTC’s strategic vision to expand Malaysia Healthcare into emerging markets like Oman, positioning Malaysia as the medical tourism destination. Oman's growing healthcare sector and its position as a gateway to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region make it a strategic choice for this initiative. By engaging with Omani patients and stakeholders, MHTC aims to create long-term referral pathways and foster collaboration in healthcare.
The Malaysia Healthcare Week 2025 will feature:
• Interactive Exhibitions: Showcasing Malaysia’s medical expertise through uniquely engaging and informative displays of outstanding healthcare services and innovative technologies.
• On-Site Consultations: Offering Omani patients personalised consultations with Malaysian healthcare professionals to provide tailored guidance and insights into available medical treatments.
• Stakeholder Engagements: Facilitating meaningful interactions with key healthcare stakeholders in Oman to explore opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
• Cultural Immersion: Experience Malaysia’s culture and tradition woven into Malaysia’s holistic healthcare ecosystem.
CEO of MHTC, Dr. Mohamed Ali Abu Bakar said, “This event provides a strategic opportunity to bring Malaysia’s integrated and holistic healthcare services closer to Omani patients, offering them the special care they deserve. Malaysia continues to stand out as a trusted medical tourism destination, delivering significant cost savings while maintaining high standards of care. Our internationally accredited hospitals are equipped with advanced technology, enabling precise diagnostics and minimally invasive procedures”.
Dr. Mohamed Ali added, “As we prepare for Malaysia Medical Tourism Year 2026, we are further enhancing our integrated healthcare offerings. These include advancements in modern medicine, wellness programs, traditional and complementary medicine, clinical services, and personalised patient experiences. This comprehensive approach ensures patients from around the globe not only receive high-quality healthcare but also enjoy Malaysia’s vibrant culture, warm hospitality, and seamless medical tourism journey.”
Following the success of MHTC’s 2024 initiatives, which saw over 8,000 visitors at the Oman Health Exhibition, the Malaysia Healthcare Week 2025 is set to further solidify Malaysia’s reputation THE medical tourism destination.
MHTC remains committed in positioning Malaysia as the healthcare destination and in advancing public and private entities for healthcare tourism development. Through initiatives such as collaborating with the Malaysia Healthcare Week 2025, MHTC seeks to further augment and coordinate healthcare with clinical offerings and tourism experiences.
