Second edition of "Bahla Fort Winter" Festival kicks off in Al Dakhiliyah

Muscat: The second edition of the "Bahla Fort Winter" Festival kicked off in the Wilayat of Bahla in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, with the aim of promoting domestic tourism and spreading Omani culture among visitors.

The festival was sponsored by His Excellency Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism.

Engineer Ali bin Ahmed Al Shaqsi, General Manager of Al Marasem Tourism and Investment Company, which oversees the operation and management of Bahla Fort, said that the "Bahla Fort Winter" Festival is one of the most prominent annual celebrations in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, and is an important occasion to celebrate the cultural and tourism heritage in the Wilayat.

He added that the festival focuses on highlighting the tourist and historical landmarks of the Wilayat, most notably Bahla Fort, the first world heritage site in the Sultanate of Oman.

 Al Shaqsi pointed out that the vision of the festival in its second edition aims to spread the culture of Omani heritage through Bahla Fort, which is considered an important historical station, noting that the festival includes many recreational, educational and cultural activities, and the open fort theatre will be a place to display heritage and theatrical performances and cultural and entertainment competitions for all age groups.
