Oman to take part in 15 international exhibitions to boost tourism

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism continues to enhance its presence in global markets during 2025 through a promotional plan to participate in the most prominent international tourism exhibitions and organise mobile workshops in foreign markets.

The Sultanate of Oman will participate in 15 international tourism exhibitions during 2025, including the most prominent tourism exhibitions in Europe, Asia and the United States. Among the important exhibitions in which it will participate are: FITUR Exhibition in Spain, ITB Exhibition in Germany, Mitt Exhibition in Russia, ATM Exhibition in the United Arab Emirates, ITB Asia Exhibition in Singapore, WTM Exhibition in the United Kingdom, in addition to many specialised international exhibitions such as IMEX Exhibition in Germany, which specialises in incentive and conference tourism, and Sea Trade Exhibition in the United States of America, which specializes in marine tourism.

These efforts aim to promote the Sultanate of Oman as a distinguished tourist destination, highlight its tourist, cultural and heritage assets, in addition to shedding light on the tourist packages and offers provided by companies operating in the tourism sector.

Haitham Mohammed Al Ghassani, Director General of Tourism Promotion at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, stressed that the ministry pays great attention to participating in international tourism exhibitions as they are a vital platform to enhance the presence of the Sultanate of Oman in the global arena.

He explained that the International Tourism Exchange Berlin, which is one of the largest exhibitions in the travel and tourism sector globally, will be the next stop for the ministry after its remarkable success at the International Tourism Exhibition in Madrid.

He pointed out that participation in these exhibitions represents a great opportunity to introduce the most prominent developments related to the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman, and to open channels of communication with major international tourism companies and institutions to discuss joint cooperation.

He added that these participations contribute to attracting more tourists by promoting diverse tourism components enjoyed by the Sultanate of Oman, and highlighting the tourism offers and programmes provided by Omani companies.

He explained that the ministry seeks, through its participation in these exhibitions, to build a broader network of relations with international tourism institutions, and to participate in conferences and seminars held on the sidelines of these events to keep pace with the most prominent trends in the global tourism sector.

He stressed that such participations provide a promotional and economic platform for Omani companies, especially small and medium enterprises, as they can display their services and products within the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion at these events, which contributes to supporting the tourism sector in general.

The Director General of Tourism Promotion explained that the ministry will announce new promotional programmes during these exhibitions, in cooperation with strategic partners, with the aim of enhancing the marketing efforts of the Sultanate of Oman and attracting more investments in the sector.

In addition to participating in these exhibitions, the ministry will organise a series of mobile promotional workshops in a number of target markets in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, East Asia and European countries.

These workshops come within the framework of the ministry’s efforts to consolidate relations with local and international partners in the tourism sector, and to explore opportunities for cooperation and sign strategic partnerships.

During the workshops, visual presentations are presented to introduce the Sultanate of Oman’s diverse tourism assets, in addition to holding meetings between Omani tourism institutions and major tourism companies in these markets; with the aim of strengthening cooperation ties and exploring opportunities for contracting with companies specializing in the tourism sector.

These participations and promotional activities also come within the monistry’s strategy to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which focuses on diversifying the national economy and strengthening the tourism sector as one of the important economic pillars, which contributes to strengthening the
