Forum aims at boosting female role in Oman economy

Salalah: As part of Salalah Tourism Festival, the first forum for women entrepreneurs, organised by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), Dhofar Governorate Branch started yesterday at Crown Plaza Hotel Salalah.
The opening ceremony of the three-day forum was held under the auspices of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan Al Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar, in the presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Omar Al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service, Dr. Rasheed bin Al Safi Al Huraibi, Chairman of Tender Board, local officials and entrepreneurs.
The forum aims at adding value to the business system and technology by enhancing the role played by women in economic growth and sustainable development.
Maithaa bint Saif Al Mahrouqiyah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Mohammed bin Khamis Al Makhini, Assistant Secretary General for Industrial Information and Studies at Gulf Organisation for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), Khalid bin Hamad Al Rawahi, Director General of Manpower in the Governorate of Dhofar and Sheikh Salah bin Hilal Al Ma’awali, Deputy Chairman of SMEs Development Fund ‘Namaa’ participated in the first session titled “Political Decision and Entrepreneurship”.
The second session titled “Entrepreneurship between Creativity and Challenges” included three working papers.
