Bangladesh confirms Eid Al-Fitr celebrations today

Muscat: Bangladesh will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday, March 31, 2025, following the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon on Sunday evening. The National Moon Sighting Committee, led by Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain, confirmed the sighting after a meeting held at the Islamic Foundation’s conference room, according to local media.

Major Eid prayers are expected to be held at the National Eidgah and Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka, with thousands of worshippers expected to participate.

"The moon of Holy Shawwal month of 1446 Hijri was sighted in the sky of the country today . . . The holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Monday (tomorrow)," Religious Affairs Adviser and National Moon Sighting Committee President Dr AFM Khalid Hossain told reporters after the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee, according to local media reports.
