Muscat: Several citizens have been arrested for hunting monitor lizard in Dhofar Governorate, Environment Authority (EA), said.
A statement issued online by EA said :"Specialists at the Environment Authority in Dhofar Governorate were able to arrest a number of citizens for committing an environmental violation, namely hunting a monitor lizard. This was a clear violation of the provisions of the Natural Reserves and Wildlife Conservation Law No. 6 of 2003. Legal action is currently being taken against them in accordance with applicable laws and regulations."
