First Hajj, Umrah exhibition kicks off at OCEC

Muscat: The inaugural Hajj and Umrah Exhibition, organised by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, began on Sunday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).

The three-day event brings together key stakeholders, including government entities, private sector representatives, and Hajj and Umrah service providers.

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Sheikh Al Fadl Mohammed Al Harthy, Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers.

The exhibition aims to strengthen partnerships among Hajj and Umrah stakeholders in Oman by providing a unified platform for collaboration. It seeks to enhance competition among service providers for pilgrims, foster innovation in delivering high-quality services, and simplify access to information, enabling pilgrims to make well-informed choices. Additionally, the event promotes cultural, historical, legal, and scientific enrichment through diverse programs.

A series of accompanying events will take place on the sidelines, including lectures on Hajj rituals, spiritual aspects, and objectives, as well as a training workshop for Hajj companies titled "Welcome." An introductory session on regulations and services for pilgrims will also be featured.
