Muscat: Muscat International Book Fair is set to open on Thursday, April 23, 2025, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, President of Sultan Qaboos University.
Details about the 29th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair are being revealed at a press conference held at the Ministry of Information Theater.
His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information announced that the North Al Sharqiyah Governorate will be the guest of honour at this year's exhibition. The fair will feature a variety of cultural events and activities designed to highlight the governorate's cultural and historical landmarks, scientific and humanitarian achievements, tourist destinations, and aspects of modern life across its wilayats.
His Excellency also confirmed that daily events and activities will receive extensive coverage from various media outlets, including live broadcasts of selected cultural events taking place during the exhibition.
The Director of the Muscat International Book Fair said during his speech at the press conference that the number of participating publishing houses this year is 674 from 35 countries, including 640 direct participants and 34 participating by proxy.
He stated that the number of titles and publications listed on the fair's website this year exceeds 681,000. The fair will include numerous events and activities for children and families, including interactive and entertainment shows and youth initiatives.
