Something new is on the horizon for one of Muscat’s most familiar addresses. On Thursday, April 24, 2025, Gulf Hotels (Oman), the owning company of Crowne Plaza Muscat, signed a contract with Shanfari Trading & Furnishing Company LLC to lead the hotel’s upcoming renovation project.
Shanfari Trading & Furnishing Company LLC, a trusted name in Oman’s construction and infrastructure landscape with decades of expertise, will oversee the transformation of the hotel’s guest rooms. The signing ceremony marked a significant moment, underscoring both companies’ shared commitment to enhancing the hospitality experience in the Sultanate.
The ceremony was attended by the board members and senior representatives from both Gulf Hotels (Oman) and Shanfari Trading & Furnishing Company LLC, highlighting the strategic importance of the collaboration. The renovation will involve a complete upgrade of the hotel’s guest rooms, corridors, and elevators. The project is scheduled to begin on June 1st, 2025, with the hotel temporarily closing its doors until August 31st, 2025 to facilitate the work.

The renovation will bring in a fresh, modern look and feel to the rooms blending functional upgrades with subtle, elegant touches all while preserving the hotel’s warm and familiar atmosphere that guests have come to love over the years.
