Muscat: The College of Engineering and Technology at the UTAS-Al Mussanah, in collaboration with the Research and Consultation Department, is preparing to organize an international conference titled "Sustainable Development in Engineering and Technology – ICSDET 2025" on April 30th and May 1st, 2025, in partnership with the Global College of Engineering and Technology.
The conference will bring together researchers and industry experts from various engineering disciplines, including Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil and Architectural Engineering to discuss the latest research developments in sustainable development.
This conference is in line with Oman Vision 2040, focusing on supporting innovation, encouraging eco-friendly practices, and enhancing the sustainability of engineering projects to achieve economic diversification, environmental preservation, and knowledge-driven progress.
The conference will cover several key topics, including innovations in computing technologies, communication and electronics systems, sustainable and renewable energy systems, innovations in mechanical engineering, and other subjects related to national development trends in engineering and technology.
The conference will feature more than 300 participants, with over 100 research papers. Additionally, five keynote speakers from the academic and industrial sectors will provide insights into the future of engineering and technology in the context of sustainability.
This conference reflects the university's commitment to supporting scientific research and innovation to enhance its role as a major hub for research and technology initiatives that contribute to Oman's comprehensive development.
