Tunis: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, on Wednesday held political consultations with Mohamed Ali Nafti, Tunisia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, at the Tunisian Foreign Ministry headquarters. The meeting comes within the framework of Sayyid Badr’s official visit to Tunisia.
The two ministers reviewed the longstanding bilateral relations between Oman and Tunisia, characterised by stability, harmony and multifaceted cooperation. They emphasised the fraternal ties between both nations and explored avenues to enhance political, economic and cultural collaboration, including knowledge exchange across scientific and professional fields.
Discussions focused on strengthening investment opportunities, with both sides urging private sector companies and investment authorities to expand partnerships and boost trade exchange for mutual economic benefit. The ministers also addressed regional and international issues of common concern, stressing continued coordination in multilateral forums and support for peaceful solutions to current challenges to promote regional security and stability.
Key sectors identified for enhanced cooperation included trade, transportation, tourism, renewable energy, industry, technology, food security and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The ministers emphasised translating these opportunities into tangible outcomes for both nations.
The meeting was attended by Hilal Al Sinani, the Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia, and Sheikh Faisal Omar Al Marhoon, Head of the Arab Department at the Foreign Ministry.
