Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has welcomed the announcement made by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer of his country’s intention to recognise the State of Palestine during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Foreign Ministry, Oman renewed its call to the rest of the international community—particularly those nations that have not yet recognised the State of Palestine—to take similar steps to ensure the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
This move is seen as a crucial step toward achieving the two-state solution and lasting peace in the region.
