MoU inked to develop Marine Sports, promote Oman’s maritime heritage

Muscat: Oman LNG, represented by its development foundation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oman Maritime Sports Committee (OMSC), marking a shared commitment to support and develop marine sports while reviving Oman’s maritime heritage. The agreement also aims to enable diverse community groups to participate in marine-themed sporting and cultural events.

The MoU seeks to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two parties and foster the growth of both traditional and modern marine sports, contributing to the preservation and promotion of Oman’s authentic identity.

The scope of cooperation includes supporting and sponsoring activities and initiatives organized by the committee, exchanging expertise and best practices in sports management, volunteer work, and event organization. Additionally, the partnership will provide training programs to develop national cadres and enhance media and marketing coordination to highlight these events, their objectives, and their impact.

Dr. Amer Nasser Al Mata’eni, CEO of Oman LNG’s Development Foundation, stated that this MoU reflects the foundation’s commitment to supporting Oman’s maritime identity and heritage while empowering the community—particularly youth and families—to engage in events that celebrate these values and traditions.
