Six Arab nationals held for extorting over OMR200,000

Muscat: The Al Dakhiliyah Governorate Police Command arrested six Arab nationals for committing fraud and extorting via social media platforms.

They impersonated a girl and deceived a man into believing they were into a romantic relationship, and then blackmailed him into paying over OMR200,000, claiming they had been abused by their family members. Legal action is being taken against them.
