Four held for smuggling marijuana in Barka

Muscat: The Directorate for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, of South Al Batinah Governorate Police Command, with support from the Special Tasks Police Unit in Wadi Al Ma'awil, thwarted an operation to smuggle large quantities of marijuana and arrested two individuals of Arab nationality on the beach of Barka Wilayat while they were receiving the smuggled drugs.

The Coast Guard police boats pursued the smuggling boat, managed to seize it, and apprehended two individuals of Asian nationality on board. Legal procedures against them are being completed.

Meanwhile, the North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command arrests a person for committing three theft crimes involving sums of money from commercial stores in the Wilayat of Shinas, and legal procedures are being completed against him.
