Funding agreement signed for third phase of Day Care development project at Khoula Hospital

Muscat: The Ministry of Health, represented by the Directorate General of Khoula Hospital, has formalised a collaborative agreement with Al Yusr Charity Foundation to finance the third phase of procuring medical equipment and surgical instruments for the Day Care Unit at Khoula Hospital. The agreement further encompasses the implementation of a comprehensive training and qualification programme for medical professionals in specialised and rare disciplines across Khoula Hospital, Al Nahdha Hospital and Al Wattayah Complex for Gynecology and Obstetrics.

This third phase of the project is designed to augment the operational capacity of the Day Care facility at Khoula Hospital while broadening the spectrum of surgical interventions to encompass highly specialized fields, thereby establishing localised specialised healthcare services within the Sultanate of Oman.

Through this initiative, the Directorate General of Khoula Hospital aims to perform over 10,000 surgical procedures annually, serving patients from both Khoula and Al Nahdha Hospitals. This substantial increase in surgical capacity will significantly reduce waiting periods and enhance the quality of specialized medical care available to both citizens and residents.

Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Alawi, Director General of Khoula Hospital, conveyed his profound gratitude to Al Yusr Charity Foundation for their generous support and meaningful contribution to healthcare advancement, noting that this collaboration aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 to establish an integrated and sustainable healthcare framework.

In his remarks, Omar bin Mohammed Al Farsi, Director General of Al Yusr Charity Foundation, emphasised that this support forms part of the Foundation's ongoing commitment to strengthening day clinic operations, which have demonstrated notable progress in prior phases.

He characterised the initiative as a manifestation of the Foundation's dedication to social responsibility and its continuous support for health and social programmes that advance medical excellence and address patient needs.

This partnership underscores the vital importance of effective collaboration between public and private sectors in advancing healthcare and development projects, while demonstrating Al Yusr Charity Foundation's steadfast commitment to supporting the health sector through innovative initiatives that benefit all segments of society.
