
A’Rustaq: A’Rustaq Hospital today obtained accreditation as a Mother and Baby-Friendly Hospital from the Ministry of Health, making it the third hospital in the Sultanate of Oman to receive "Baby-Friendly Hospital" accreditation and the second to receive "Mother-Friendly Hospital" accreditation. This national achievement adds to the record of excellence in the health sector.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of Eng. Masoud Said Al Hashmi, Governor of South Al Batinah, in the presence of Dr. Nasser Abdullah Al Shukaili, Director General of Health Services in South Al Batinah Governorate, and a number of officials.
The ceremony's program included an introductory film about South Al Batinah Governorate, highlighting its geographical and service components and its role in supporting health and community development. The program also featured a scientific presentation titled "Breastfeeding: Treatment Before Nutrition," delivered by Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Farsi, Consultant in Pediatric Intensive Care at A’Rustaq Hospital. The presentation addressed the health and therapeutic benefits of breastfeeding and its positive impact on boosting a child's immunity and preventing numerous diseases.
During the ceremony, a special film titled "A’Rustaq Hospital: Friendly to Mother and Child," was screened. It reviewed the hospital's journey and its efforts in implementing the initiative's standards, as well as the role of health personnel in supporting the mother from pregnancy stages until after childbirth. This reflects the hospital's commitment to providing comprehensive and humane healthcare.
