
Manama--- The Kingdom of Bahrain has welcomed diplomatic efforts made by the Sultanate of Oman towards the signing of an agreement that led to the exchange of prisoners and detainees in Yemen under the auspices of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, and in cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Kingdom of Bahrain valued Oman’s efforts and described them as a positive step and a breakthrough in addressing the humanitarian situation and supporting efforts for a comprehensive peaceful settlement in the Republic of Yemen.
Bahrain affirmed its steadfast stand in backing for all international and regional efforts and initiatives—notably the efforts of the Sultanate of Oman aimed at reaching a lasting political solution in Yemen in accordance with the GCC Initiative, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference and the mandates of Security Council Resolution No. 2216—in a manner that safeguards the sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity and independence of Yemen and fulfils the Yemeni people’s aspirations for security, peace, stability and sustainable prosperity.
