
Muscat --- The Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Azerbaijan discussed in Muscat today ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the parliamentary and legislative fields.
This took place during separate meetings held by Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council, and Sheikh Khalid Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council, with Prof. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan and her accompanying delegation.
During the meetings, the two sides emphasized the importance of parliamentary relations, noting that these relations keep pace with the growing ties between the two nations under the keenness of their leaderships to consolidate cooperation in various fields. The sessions also reviewed ways to develop existing cooperation between the two sides and included an exchange of views on several regional and international issues of common interest.
For her part, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis praised the development of bilateral relations and the shared visions that unite the two friendly countries, which contribute to achieving development and prosperity in the economic, cultural, tourism, and legislative sectors. She further emphasized the ongoing efforts to increase mutual investments between the two countries.
