Muscat: Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information, affirmed that the “Together Moving Forward” forum constitutes a tangible manifestation of the Sultanate of Oman’s unwavering commitment to fostering constructive dialogue between state institutions and civil society.
He stated that the forum, organised by the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers, serves to enhance public awareness and facilitate responsible national discourse on government policies and programmes.
In a press statement, the minister elaborated that the forum provides a comprehensive national platform designed to promote meaningful engagement, listen to diverse viewpoints, and safeguard responsible freedom of expression.
He emphasised that this initiative reflects the foundational principles established by the nation’s wise leadership, which are rooted in transparency, open dialogue, and respect for a plurality of perspectives.
He further noted that the forum operationalises the “One Team” ethos championed by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
This concept is built upon the seamless integration of roles, the unification of efforts between the state and its people, and a shared sense of responsibility—all critical to advancing national development and realising Oman’s aspirations for a prosperous future across all sectors.
The minister highlighted that the forum’s agenda addressed several strategic themes central to national progress.
These included investment prospects in priority economic sectors and the pivotal role of governorate development in stimulating such investments, aligning directly with the overarching objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
He reported that the discussions throughout the forum were both substantive and objective, serving to build mutual understanding, reconcile differing viewpoints, and demonstrate an effective partnership between the government and the public in tackling issues of national priority.
Special emphasis was placed on engaging the nation’s youth, the minister added. The forum actively sought their opinions and involved them in deliberations on various developmental pathways, particularly economic ones.
This engagement is intended to heighten their awareness of prevailing challenges and opportunities and to affirm their central role in shaping both the present and the future.
The Minister of Information commended the exceptional quality of contributions from young participants, especially students from schools, colleges, and universities. Their presentations showcased profound and promising ideas, reflecting a keen awareness of their own potential and the vast opportunities available to them in diverse fields, notably entrepreneurship and business innovation.
In conclusion, the minister extended his profound gratitude and appreciation to all media organisations, digital platforms, and social media influencers for their professional and responsible coverage of the forum’s proceedings.
Their work, he stated, was instrumental in amplifying the forum’s reach within the community and in bolstering its core national mission. -ONA
